Well...it's been emotional! We just wanted to say what a pleasure and a privillege it was to play for Mr Dead And Mrs Free at the Lido in Berlin-what a beautiful venue! As anyone who spoke to us prior to the gig will have noticed, we were rather nervous about this concert, as it meant alot to us to perform for people who have showed the band such love and support over the last four years and we hope that we did not dissapoint?! A special thank you must go to our dedicated fans and friends from the Rolling Stone Forum who travelled from the four corners of Germany for the event, it was amazing and very humbling to meet(and drink and smoke!) with people who have shown us such warmth and support, and care about our songs as much as we do, you really have kept us going, and we are all fired up to finish the new album now! To be honest, playing to you all in Berlin felt like a homecoming gig, and we hope it won't be to long until we come back. So to Volker, Ina, Tim, Wolfgang, Fran, Andy and the Forum, and all our new and old friends in Berlin and beyond, danke for a truly wonderful weekend, and an unforgettable evening, as Paul from the band said, "These last four days have been the best night of my life!"

Well it has finally been confirmed, and we are very happy to announce that we shall be coming to play at the Lido in Berlin as part of our favourite record shop, 'Mr Dead And Mrs Free's 25th Anniversary celebrations, on Saturday 31st May. We shall be playing alongside Fran Healy and Andy Dunlop of Travis and two further bands from the lovely city of Berlin. Needless to say we are very excited at the prospect, Dead and Free have been great supporters of ours ever since we dropped a couple of copies of our first two singles in there one sunny October afternoon a few years back. The Lido looks like an amazing venue (an old converted cinema) with the sort of bar that we could fall in love with! So, if yr in Berlin please come along and say hello, as there are a lot of people in that fair city whose support and kind words have kept us going these last four years and it would be great to share a drink with you all!

Well, we made it to Paris...and we made it back..just! It has to be said that this was a wee adventure that exceeded all expectations and we have to extend our sincerest gratitude to Thomas and Sandrine and Sam and David and Fabrice and Laurent and Cyril and Morgane and to the whole Paris gang, who showed such great warmth and friendship (and patience) over the course of our trip and made it all possible! Keep on keeping on kids! We had an absolute blast, there were good times, good food, good wine, good people and great laughs and stories...we really didn’t want to leave...and we nearly didn’t! There were crazy cabbies, French crack whores, sublime culture, chaos and excitement, mislaid tickets, hailstorms, traffic jams, the ruination of a beautiful and expressive language (our most overused word on the whole trip was ’Pardon’) and missed trains but mostly there was a whole lotta love and fun, fun, fun....oh, and a spellbinding concert....so can we come back?
15 March 2008
Well the time is nearly upon us, passports have been found, Euros have been exchanged and guitars have been fixed(hopefully) and we shall be off on the Eurostar on Monday eve to Paris(France). The concert is on Tuesday eve at the rather lovely Nouveau Casino, doors are 730pm and we are onstage at 8pm prompt, and at the bar 830pm. Thomas Fevrier and band follow us and then Andy Scisco takes to the stage at the end of the eve by which point we shall be barely standing. So if you happen to see a ramshackle bunch of unshaven british lads wandering the by-ways of the french capital on Wednesday come and say hello..Wednesday is our sight seeing day..ah paris in the Spring!

First off, Happy New Year ladies and gents! We hope this message finds you happy and healthy and not hungover?! Just to keep you up to date with coming plans for the New Year..so glad to finally see the back of 2007, although there were many highlights it was a bit of a battle to be honest.
Anyway..we are off to the studio again this weekend to put a few finishing touches to songs for the new album, which should be released in the autumn, before that tho there will be a new single sometime in March on Berlin based Rank Records. This will be a Limited Edition Vinyl 7" and only available in Germany, unless you get ordering online. 'Blood And Water' is not to be featured on the new album, and will be accompanied by an as yet undecided track that will also be exclusive to this release, danke schon to the good fellas at Rank!
Previous single 'Echo Of Me' is also to be released on an International Pop Compilation through the Spanish label Bon Vivant Records sometime in 2008, muchos gracias to the good people at BVR!
And there shall be concerts, it is our New Years Resolution! We hope to be in London, Paris and Berlin before the Spring with a rehearsed band and everything...fingers crossed on that one, but we shall let you know as soon as dates are confirmed.
And finally..a big thank you for your continued support good people, it ain't easy being an Indie and none of this would be possible without alot of friends around the world doing their bit and helping us shuffle along at our own pace! Merci, danke, gracias and thank you one and all!

Start Fires' narrowly beat (but beat nonetheless!) the Super Furry Animals to the coveted top spot in this months German Rolling Stone Magazine...Jon, remind me again why we don't live in Berlin...?
15 October 2007
To commemorate Editor of German Rolling Stone, Wolfgang Doebeling's 1000th edition of his Roots radio show in Berlin, Palm Springs have teamed up with a gang of his friends and admirers to produce a very limited edition 7" vinyl single indeed. The one sided single features the unreleased Palm Springs track, 'Blood And Water' with our long lost Australian compadre Matt Sigley on piano and backing vocals. Recorded when Matt was fresh off the end of the Brian Jonestown Massacres European Tour in June 2006, the single sleeve depicts a young, long haired and bearded Wolfgang molesting an angel and there are fewer than 10 copies in existence...although after reading that description I can see why! Here's to the next 1000 Wolfgang..cheers!

It's been a while but Palm Springs are returning to the live arena with two..yes count them..two upcoming shows in September in association with our very own Bleeding Hearts Club. On Monday 10th September we will be at the Prince Albert in Brighton, with a full 7 piece live band..fingers crossed, with support from our Parisien chum Thomas Fevrier and his gaggle of Gauloise tainted troubadours, Chris Almighty will be caressing the vinyl and there will be the premier of the video for our new single, 'I Start Fires'. Doors are at 8pm and entry is £4. Then on Wednesday 19th September we are taking the Bleeding Hearts Club to Old London town with our Brightonian chums, Jane Bartholomew and Things In Herds, for a more stripped down evening of melancholia with Chris and his portable record player. Doors are 8pm and entry is £5. It would be lovely to see you boys and girls!

Palm Springs love affair with all things Germanic continues apace, with 'Softly To Fallen' being included on the covermount CD for this months magazine alongside the likes of Wilco, Andrew Bird and The Pigeon Detectives. Apparently this 12 track compilation can be downloaded for yr i-pod using some sort of weird magic from their online magazine site, but fuck knows how that works!
2 February 2007
Palm Springs's debut album 'No Hurt Like A Broken Heart' finally has a full UK/Europe release on LP/CD through Cargo distribution on the 5th March this year. We recommend the vinyl, but then we are biased!
5 January 2007
Softly to Fallen has made the coveted Number 2 spot in the Editor of German Rolling Stone Magazine, Wolfgang Doebeling's Best 45's of 2006. Our debut album No Hurt Like A Broken Heart made Number 2 as well in the LP category pipped to the post by that old rascal Scott Walker! Must try harder this year!
2 December 2006
Softly to Fallen has made No Ripcord magazines first Podcast for the Best of 2006 alongside the likes of Cat Power, Sufjan Stevens and Joanna Newsom. To have a listen go to www.noripcord.com

Finally we have the test-pressings! This means the singles themselves are nearly upon us. The single sleves are currently scatered around on my living room floor waiting construction. However, the video is complete.... thanks to all of you who gave up your time and livers for its filming and very special thanks to Senor Spilbergo (a.k.a Rupert Noble) for all his help and sweet abuse.

Much love and thanks to Miss Isabel for all her hard work on the website. Hurry up hon, nearly done now!
13 July 2005
Exciting whispers for Palm Springs fans everywhere, as we are currently dusting off our guitars, soaking the stains out of our suits, and thumbing through our little black books in an attempt to assemble a well worn group of boys and girls for the official launch of our new single, Echo of Me/After Honey, in the autumn. As we have yet to confirm a venue, or find a new manufacturing plant for the single, which still needs a sleeve designed, having an actual band was fairly low on our, ‘to do’ list, but rest assured we are working on it!
08 July 2005
Do not ask us anything now, we are busy working on our new flashy website! Heh!.
5 July 2005
We are recovering from the rather wonderful Bleeding Hearts Club 2nd Birthday Party last night at the Prince Albert in Brighton. Congratulations to all the bands on a job well-done and special thanks to Miss Shelly and Miss Isabel for the rather wonderfull cakes. ...oh! and to Miss Jane for the rather incendiary cake decorations!
28 June 2005
